Making art is great for bonding with family and friends. So let's make something beautiful together. This class is structured for kids and parents to learn printmaking together.

Gelli plates makes printmaking easy for everyone! Learn to use a Gelli plate to decorate feathers by printing on them and printing patterned papers with feathers and other natural materials.

Gelatin printing is an old art form that was a precursor to early photography. Printmaking with modern Gelli plates is all about color, pattern and fun. You will learn to ink the plate, make marks with all kinds of weird tools and natural materials, and pull prints. You will also go home with several embellished feathers and a stack of beautifully decorated papers and stickers. All skill levels welcome. Perfect for adults and kids 6-18.

Your class fee includes feathers, printing paint, the use of plates and tools and a variety of materials to print on.

Taska has always played in the dim, dusty, cluttered rooms and shaded tangled woods. Making art is a way for her to seek out more of these obscure places and learn secrets from them. Particular mediums and forms like paste paint, encaustics, bookmaking, assemblage, and found objects lend themselves to building art that looks old, rusted, dirty, and bound together. Taska’s pieces are tools for exploring and cataloging her animal guardians and familiars, emotions about her own body, and her dance with depression. Taska Eugenia Caroline Gage Sanford has been creating and making ever since she learned to paint, as a child, from her grandmother back in the deep South. She now lives and creates in Berkeley, CA with her husband, daughter, mother and two cats. With a bachelor's in fine arts and the drive to spread art into world she teaches workshops across the Bay Area. See more @posttaska
