Learn a whole new approach to carving pumpkins. Unlike the traditional Jack-o-Latern, students will use wood carving tools to etch the outside of their pumpkins creating texture and depth to transform these classic autumnal gourds into festive, luminous lanterns. The course will cover design, carving tips and techniques, with step-by-step instructions for completing the lantern. Students will take home their pumpkin and restaurant grade 15 hr candle. All skill levels welcome!

Growing up in the Bay Area, Erin Ferguson has been inspired by its varied creative communities and has explored a range of crafts;  she apprenticed as a potter, learned typeset and woodcarving at The Cowell Press at UC Santa Cruz and is a dedicated pie baker. Every October she celebrates the Fall season with a trip to the pumpkin patch.
