Discover the entrancing art of Japanese Marbling! Sumi means ink and Nagashi means floating. This ancient technique of placing ink on water will immediately command your attention and inspire your imagination. Because it is an abstract art form that often mimics patterns found in nature, each student will discover their own connections as they work.

In this workshop you will learn everything you need to know to begin exploring Suminagashi inks with a variety of papers.  Because there are infinite techniques and applications to discover, this workshop is great for beginners as well as more experienced marblers.  You will leave with a stack of beautifully hand marbled papers!

It is advised that you wear sturdy, warm, dark colored clothing, as we will be working with semi permanent inks and water.  Please bring any papers that you would like to experiment with!
