Come find out how fun and addicting leather work can be!

In this class you will make a journal/art book cover from high quality vegetable tanned leather (journal included), learning how to use design and alphabet stamps to create intricate patterns. We will be discussing how to choose the right leather for your projects, learn how to use basic leatherworking tools, learn the "saddle stitch" a very strong hand sewing technique, burnish edges, and care for your leather.

Inspired by the beautiful leatherwork from Mexico, 6 years ago I went on a quest to teach myself this time-honored tradition. I devoured old manuals, youtube videos, and used the tried and true method of trial and error. Today I make handmade accessories for women, men and home, still learning and perfecting my craft everyday - and I love every minute of it! Each piece is made solely by me in my studio in Vallejo Ca with lots of love, blood, sweat and tears (ok- not tears, but I do listen to the band a lot). I also teach private lessons and group workshops to kids and adults. I love watching others get hooked on leathercraft! See more @tiltleather
